Chew on This: FearOct 30, 2022
Have you ever been afraid? I mean really afraid?
That’s a silly question, isn’t it? We all face situations in life that leave us feeling fearful. That’s completely normal.
What matters is how we respond to the fear.
I recently experienced a situation that left me almost paralyzed with fear. You see, I was experiencing some pretty advanced sinus issues and after reviewing a CT scan, it was determined a “mass” in my sinus cavity was to blame.
My doctor asked me to go for an MRI of my brain. He was pretty confident that it was a sinus issue rather than brain, but still wanted to make sure.
“You never know” are words you never want to hear coming out of your doctor’s mouth in this sort of situation.
I had the MRI and to my relief, the scan showed the problem to be contained to my sinuses.
I share this story because when the doctor said “you never know,” I felt a huge pit in my stomach and all I wanted to do was crawl into bed and pull the covers up over my head.
I chose to face it instead, but not before I spent some serious time surrendering to what was, by handing it all over to my Higher power. And with that came a feeling of peace. A knowing that no matter what the outcome, everything was going to be OK.
So, when life throws you a curveball, you can Forget Everything And Run OR Face Everything And Rise. The choice is yours.
I want you to know that you have the power to rise…because you are never alone.
